One of the UK's fastest-growing appliance brands has acquired a 30-year-old refrigeration line in a move that strengthens its presence in the independent retail channel.
Cookology has acquired the Iceking brand from Domestic Appliance Distributors Limited (D.A.D) and is committing significant investment to the trade sector. The acquisition includes all Iceking stock currently in the UK, along with products ready for dispatch from the factory.
Cookology has already placed new orders with manufacturing partners that have long supported both companies, ensuring consistency and continuity in product quality.
Iceking will continue to operate under its existing name. Backed by Cookology's operational infrastructure and resources, the brand will benefit from renewed investment whilst maintaining its familiar identity.
To reinforce Cookology's commitment to the trade channel, Duncan Williams, who has worked with the Iceking brand for over 13 years, has joined as head of trade sales, bringing extensive experience and deep knowledge of the brand and its customer base.
Andrew Wright, managing director at Cookology, said: "Iceking is a trusted and recognised name in the UK appliance market, and we're delighted to bring it under the Cookology umbrella. Our priority is to reassure trade partners that it's business as usual, and that we're committed to breathing new life and growth into the Iceking brand. We've built strong relationships with the factories that have supported Iceking for many years, and we'll continue to invest in the brand to strengthen its position in the independent retail channel."
Duncan Williams added: "This acquisition represents a fantastic opportunity to revitalise Iceking whilst maintaining the values and relationships that have made the brand so respected. Cookology's support and investment will allow us to build on Iceking's strong foundation, ensuring our partners continue to receive the quality, reliability and service they've come to expect. I'm looking forward to working closely with our independent retailers and buying groups to take the brand to the next level."
The acquisition ensures that retailers can continue to access the brand's popular refrigeration and appliance ranges without disruption, with further investment planned to drive growth and product development in the months ahead.
