CIH, part of Euronics, Europe’s largest electrical buying organisation, is giving its members the opportunity to add computing products to their offering for consumers.

The move follows a year of significant growth for the business. The new category will answer the growing need from consumers for great products from respected brands, including laptops, tablets and accessories, supported by expert advice, support and fast delivery from well-informed independent retailers in their local area, said CIH.

“Computing products and solutions are a perfect fit for Euronics agents,” commented CIH Chairman, Steve Scogings.

“Over the last two years, we have seen how vital IT products have been in the home, helping consumers to keep working, to educate their children, to stay connected with friends and families and, so much more.

“This move will allow people to access and buy these products locally from independent Euronics agents who are trusted for their expertise and for the high quality of service they provide to their communities.”

The new computing team is headed up by category development manager, Steve Bailey (pictured).

Mr Bailey has an extensive knowledge of the distribution chain, having worked with a number of suppliers based in the computer networking and hardware space.

“My aim is to provide agents with all the tools, training and support they need to take advantage of this fantastic business opportunity,” he said. “The world of computing is fast-paced and we want to create an environment where agents feel comfortable to sell these products through understanding, education and support.”

He added: “We will support this category introduction with the training our agents need to provide the best advice and service to their customers in their local communities, with sales and marketing collateral to drive awareness and footfall, and with warranty and aftercare support.

“I know this is going to be a huge success for agents and I’m looking forward to working with them and helping as many of them as possible on their journey.”

Major best-in-class computing brands will be available through Euronics. The organisation has also partnered with the major IT distributors in the UK to ensure agents have access to products for their customers via a next day delivery service.

Said Mr Bailey: “By offering computing products, we will help create a compelling and comprehensive brand story for customers who buy from Euronics, the home of electricals.

“However, this is only the beginning of Euronics’ plans for expansion, with smart home and health and wellbeing solutions on the horizon, securing Euronics’ place as the home of electricals. Watch this space.”
