Haier Europe used the first large-scale IFA since 2019 to stage its biggest ever product launch across three brands – Haier, Hoover and Candy.

At the tech trade show, (September 2-6, Messe Berlin) the appliance giant presented products in which the IoT (the Internet of Things) played a key role.

The 3,700 square-metre exhibition space, which was located in Pavilion 3.1, set out Haier’s vision of a smart home, with the brand’s hOn app as the star of the show.

This platform allows users to manage all the appliances from the three brands and access various services, thanks to an increasing number of partners in its ecosystem. The number of registered users on the hOn app has recently hit 4.5 million.

New Haier products on display included I-Pro Shine Series 6 and 7 dishwashers with quiet operation and A energy ratings, as well the I-Fresh Series 11 washing machine.

After the normal washing process, the machine goes into operation to refresh the clothes and maintain a dry environment, preventing the build-up of mould and bacteria, and preventing bad odours. Laundry can stay in the washer for up to 12 hours.

Haier also unveiled the Cube 90 Series 9 AI-equipped fridge-freezer, which can become the hub of the home, and the Cube 90 Series 7 Pro and FD 90 Series Pro multidoor fridge-freezers - these can be controlled by the hOn app.

On the cooking front, the highlight was Haier’s AI-enabled oven called Chef@Home Series 6. It has a Preci Taste function, which is capable of recognising the food inside the oven, setting the most suitable cooking parameters and controlling the process until it is completed.

The new version presented at IFA also benefits from an improved user experience, with a full touch-screen interactive door that allows the user to follow the preparation of dishes in a simple and intuitive way, but also access multimedia content.

Under the Candy brand, Haier showed off a customisable connected Fresco fridge, with 100 different layouts to choose from, as well as the RapidO smart dishwasher, which can clean and dry a load in 35 minutes.

Hoover was looking to clean up the competition with its new HF9 cordless stick vacuum, with Anti-Twist technology, which is able to prevent hair and pet hair getting tangled around the brush bar.

The brand also debuted laundry, dishwashing, steam cooking and cooling appliances.

At IFA, Haier Europe announced the opening of several new manufacturing plants. In 2021, it completed the construction of two new factories in Romania and Turkey, which specialise in manufacturing refrigerators and dryers, respectively. In 2022, production also began at the new dishwasher plant in Turkey.
