Cleaning brand Hoover has released a WiFi-connected robot vacuum cleaner that can climb onto surfaces up to 2cm tall.

The new HG4 robot vacuum also includes a laser navigation system (LIDAR) which can learn and map a home’s layout, as well as an automatic recharging feature and an app for remote control of the device.

The connected app allows users to remotely control the device, as well as the ability to personalise the device’s settings, routines, create individual and sets of rooms and add no-go areas.

Antony Peart, Director of Brands and Communications at Haier Europe which owns Hoover, said: “The HG4 is a game changer in the robotic vacuum marketplace. We are so proud of this development for Hoover and hope it will bring a lot to people’s homes in terms of cleaning efficiency.”

The rotating brush uses a combination of bristles and rubber blades which promise powerful suction and low noise levels of 65 decibels in quiet mode. The product also includes a 0.8 litre dust collection bin, a cleaning tool accessory, an extra side brush and an extra EPA dust bin filter.
