Critical challenges facing the electrical product industry around consumer safety, innovation and emerging technologies will come under the spotlight at a major conference in London this November.

The 16th annual Electrical Product Safety Conference, hosted by the charity Electrical Safety First, provides a platform for experts to delve into urgent matters and share insights on the rapidly evolving global landscape.

As the world rapidly moves towards an all-electric future, this major industry event will tackle key trends impacting the electrical product sector through a dynamic programme of presentations, panels and fireside chats.

Under the theme "Time for Change", the 2024 conference on 21st November in Westminster will address critical topics. These include the impact of government policy changes on risk and enforcement, keeping safety at the forefront amid the net zero push, the shifting tides of international markets, and emerging issues on the horizon.

Confirmed high-profile speakers so far include:

  • Sarah Smith from the Office for Product Safety and Standards
  • Toy safety expert Jerry Burnie OBE
  • eBay's Wolfgang Weber
  • Financial commentator Susannah Streeter
  • and the heads of Electrical Safety First and the Chartered Trading Standards Institute.
