The 'Know Watt’s What' campaign, run by AMDEA (the Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances), picked up a bronze award in the Best Awareness Campaign or Advancement of a Cause category at the prestigious Association of Excellence Awards in London.
The campaign, which has been running since 2022, focuses on helping consumers make better use of the tech installed in their appliances. It shows them how they can save money, find spares to extend the operational lifespan of their appliances and develop more eco-conscious habits.
Judges praised the campaign for its evidence-based strategy, adaptability to changing consumer needs, and measurable impact, while also highlighting the fact it was able to engage public events, provide practical resources, and collaborate with policymakers and retailers.
AMDEA CEO Paul Hide said: “Know Watt’s What is the archetype of a well-designed campaign. It tackles a great issue of our age – sustainability – but in a way which is both truly helpful to appliance users and highly relevant for policy makers and retailers.
“By using imagination, accurate targeting and good execution, it has made its mark and is helping to shift the dial for consumers.”
Know Watt’s What previously won the top prize of Campaign of the Year at the 2023 Trade Association Awards.
